The residents of Oakland use a certain block of Woods Street as an unofficial refuse transfer station; and just take their dump loads there, and once every few weeks or so the city sends out a big dump truck and loader to clean it up.

I was looking over the pile one day hoping to find a spare for my van, holding air and mounted on a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge 5-lug pickup or van wheel.  A couple of OPD rolled up and got out.  One asked me what I was doing.  I told him what I was doing.  He then said plainly:

Your life is in danger here

I know you think it is not

But it is
