Some software licenses are designed to restrict your freedoms. Others are designed to preserve them. The Rug License is designed to give you complete freedom initially, then pull itself out from underneath you when you’ve been bad.
Permission to use for any purpose, copy, modify, and distribute a body of work which is protected by this license is granted, given the following terms:
A)Without fee except as described in term C, and with best wishes for your success; provided that the above copyright notice and this license appear unmodified in all copies. May you make lots of money, if that is your goal.

C)Should you make lots and lots of money, or Lots and Lots and Lots (for example vast sums, obscene amounts, or more than anyone could possibly need or spend or want, then you should offer me a share which is fair, or reasonably close thereto, not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because of terms E and D, respectively.
D)If your name appears in the list of scoundrels in term B, a fee for your use has come into existence equal to one half of your yearly net profits from whatever you are doing with the protected work.
E)If you breach term C, and continue to do so for a goodly amount of time, then next year your name will be appended to the list of scoundrels in term B, whether or not this is yet reflected in any existing copy such as this one.
F)Where A=65, odd numbered terms may not change, nor may even numbered terms except as prescribed in odd numbered terms.
G)Seven, shall be the number of thy terms, and the number of thy terms, shall be, seven.
