Assuming the cars are all equal, and the drivers are all equal in ability and skill, then if there are no mechanical failures and no driver errors, the cars will finish in the order in which they start, except where chance or weather or other external agent brings two cars close enough to each other that one can pass the other using slipstreaming (drafting).
